Americans are unmoved
MORE AMERICANS are opting to stay where they are.
A study from American Express showed 27.8 million Americans — 12% of the population — plan to move this year, according to the latest American Express Spending & Saving Tracker.
That’s down from 16% a year ago — and a sign people consider the housing sector to be more of a seller’s market. Of this year’s respondents, 25% said it was a seller’s market, more than double the 12% from two years ago.
More people staying put should benefit home improvement retailers and contractors. The study found 75% of homeowners plan to spruce up their homes, up from 73% last year.
EARLY PEEK AT GALAXY
Fans of Samsung smartphones have to wait until April 10 to get their hands on the latest Galaxy gadgets.
But New Yorkers can already get a preview and a hands-on demo of the devices at a slew of local stores.
The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Edge (inset), which were available for preorders Friday, are on display at Samsung Experience Shops at Best Buy, plus participating Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular stores throughout the five boroughs.
