An innovative option for transfer students

Many New York metropolitan area students who are completing their studies at a community college, or who are contemplating a switch from another four-year school, have an option to transfer to the NYU School of Professional Studies Paul McGhee Undergraduate Division. McGhee, as it is popularly known, offers a broad range of career-oriented bachelor’s degree programs including the: B.A. in Applied General Studies; B.A. in Humanities; B.A. in Social Sciences; B.S. in Digital Communications and Media; B.S. in Healthcare Management; B.S. in Information Systems Management; B.S. in Leadership and Management Studies; B.S. in Real Estate; and the new B.S. in Marketing Analytics.

McGhee undergraduate programs integrate the liberal arts and professional studies, providing an undergraduate education that is like no other. As a McGhee student, you will hone your critical thinking and analytical skills, increase your knowledge base, develop your intellect, and acquire the confidence to excel personally and professionally.

McGhee also provides a supportive learning environment, seamless credit transfer, multiple financial aid and scholarship options, and flexible schedules that allow students to continue to earn while they learn, helping to defray the cost of tuition. Comprehensive academic and career counseling, programs taught by top professionals in their fields, and the option to study full-time, parttime, online, or onsite, make McGhee the choice for students who seek a rich educational experience from a world-renowned university, but who need to fulfill other personal and professional obligations while they study.

In addition to support from the staff of McGhee academic advisors, undergraduates benefit from one-on-one faculty advisement. Students receive comprehensive career development counseling through the NYU Wasserman Center for Career Development at the NYU School of Professional Studies.

McGhee provides an NYU education for those who started their college careers at a community college and who now want to move on to experience the benefits of studying at a top university. Many students who attended community colleges in the boroughs of NYC and in Westchester, Nassau, and Suffolk Counties, as well as New Jersey are considering McGhee as an option to complete their degrees.

Often students transferring from other schools sense that NYU is not an option for them. While McGhee’s admission process is selective, applicants are evaluated holistically, based upon their ability to benefit from, and contribute to, the challenging learning environment that the Division offers.

McGhee affords students a unique learning environment in the heart of New York City. They benefit from a variety of academic and work experiences, in addition to short-term, study-away options and the chance to network with leading industry professionals on a regular basis. Students are immersed in a learning experience that provides them with the outstanding academic and professional opportunities and credentials that are the hallmark of an NYU education.
