Recruit whiz Rohrssen nears deal with Storm
St. John’s and new coach Chris Mullin appear to be closing in on a deal Sunday night to put Kentucky assistant coach Barry Rohrssen on the Red Storm bench, two sources told the Daily News. The Brooklyn-bred Rohrssen is one of the most successful recruiters in the game, especially when it comes to scoring talent from the New York area.
“It’s expected” to happen, one source said. “No I’s are dotted and no T’s are crossed, but it’s taking shape,” the other source said.
Scout.com first reported that Rohrssen was “finalizing a deal” with St. John’s. — Roger Rubin
