Six getting honors for serving city
SIX CITY workers have won Sloan Public Service Awards.
The honorees will be recognized in a Tuesday ceremony at Cooper Union and will each receive a $10,000 cash prize from the Fund for the City of New York.
The winners are: Caroline Bragdon of the Health Department, who works with residents and community leaders to reduce the rodent population. Michael Johnson, a maintenance supervisor who oversees 2,500 units at several NYCHA properties. Roxana Benavides, neighborhood library supervisor for the Sunset Park Branch of the Brooklyn Public Library. Charles Gili Sr., chief of operations in Brooklyn for the Parks Department. Marsha Kellam, Queens borough commissioner at the city Administration for Children’s Services. Stephen O’Brien, director of food and menu management at the Education Department.
