IN EFFECT FRIDAY AND SATURDAY

Happy Father’s Day! If you are travelling into Manhattan to celebrate dad, be prepared for delays — the Manhattan-bound Brooklyn Bridge will be closed all weekend. Beginning midnight on Friday, June 19 through 6 a.m. Monday, June 22, all Manhattan-bound lanes will be closed for 54 consecutiv­e hours. Take the Manhattan Bridge, Williamsbu­rg Bridge, or the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel instead. The good news is Father’s Day traffic is much lighter than Mother’s Day since dad gets home cooked meals needing less travel.

The Grand Street Bridge over Newtown Creek will completely close 7 a.m. to 3

p.m. this Saturday and the next one as well. Use Metropolit­an Ave. as an alternativ­e during the closures.

It’s the first true weekend of summer, which means that street fair and parade season is at its peak.

The Evangelica­l Children’s Parade will close 96th through 101st Sts. between Second and Park Aves., and create rolling closures on Third Ave. between 96th and 117th Sts. noon to 5 p.m. Saturday.

A Summer Solstice festival will close 43rd St. between Broadway and Seventh Ave., 44th St. between Broadway and Seventh Ave., and Seventh Ave. between 42nd and 43rd Sts. 5 a.m. to midnight Saturday.

The Turtle Bay Associatio­n Festival will close Lexington Ave. between 54th and 42nd Sts. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The Internatio­nal Immigrants Parade will create rolling closures on Sixth Ave. between 42nd and 56th Sts., and fully close 43rd and 44th Sts. between Fifth and Sixth Aves., 56th St. between Fifth and Seventh Aves., and 44th and 51st Sts. between Sixth and Seventh Aves. 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

The Workmen’s Circle and St. Patrick’s Cathedral Fair will close Sixth Ave. between 42nd and 57th Sts. 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

The 33rd Annual Mermaid Parade will take over Coney Island 1 p.m. Saturday, marching east along Surf Ave. from W 21st St. to W 10th St., then ending on the boardwalk. Closures on W 21st - 23rd Sts. and Stillwell and Surf Aves. will run from noon until at least 5 p.m.

The Yankees host the Tigers all weekend, 7 p.m. Friday, 7 p.m. Saturday, and 1 p.m. Sunday. Expect slowdowns from fan traffic to and from the game on the Major Deegan, Cross Bronx, and the Bruckner.
