Did you hear my baby cry when she threw him out of the window?

THE MANIACAL mom charged with throwing her 3-week-old son to his death from a fourth-floor Queens window told cops that an evil spirit had taken over her baby’s body, prosecutors said Saturday.

Rashida Chowdhury’s disturbing admission was revealed as she was arraigned Saturday night on murder charges at Queens Criminal Court.

Prosecutors said Chowdhury, 21, confessed to throwing tiny Rizwan Ahmad out the window of her Richmond Hill apartment in a crazed bid to save him from an evil spirit.

Chowdhury, wearing a blue T-shirt and a blank expression, was ordered held without bail and was placed on suicide watch.

A family member in the gallery broke down as Chowdhury was led out of the courtroom.

Chowdhury was arrested one day after her child was discovered in the trash-strewn courtyard below their 115th St. apartment, cops said.

“This a truly horrific and disturbing case of a mother accused of killing her helpless infant son,” said Queens District Attorney Richard Brown. “He fell more than 40 feet to the pavement and died. The alleged actions of the defendant are totally incomprehensible.”

Rizwan Ahmad, wearing his blue and white onesie, was found in a pool of his own blood. He died at the scene.

Rizwan’s father stood stupefied after his lover’s arrest. “She is just crazy,” a dazed Rizwan Ahmad said, according to neighbor Mazol Ilyayeva, who found the baby’s shattered body.

“Did you hear my baby cry when she threw him out of the window?” she heard the father moan.

Police were investigating whether the murderous mom was battling postpartum depression in the days after the boy’s delivery, according to sources.

“I heard the mom is mentally ill,” said family friend Khan Kamal, 28. “The mom wouldn’t do this unless she was sick in the head.”

If convicted of murder, Chowdhury faces up to life in prison. She was charged with two murder counts: intentional murder and murder of a victim under the age of 11.

Shortly before the arrest was announced, the city medical examiner ruled the baby’s death was a homicide.

The child was killed by “blunt impact of head and torso with skull fractures and lacerations of (the) liver, brain and spleen,” the medical examiner said late Friday.
