ALTERNATE-SIDE PARKING RULES

ARE IN EFFECT ALL WEEK

NFL football returns to the New York area.

Even though it’s preseason more than 50,000 fans are expected to show up at MetLife stadium on Friday night for a

7:30 p.m. start time as the Jets take on the Atlanta Falcons.

This means NFL-sized traffic jams at the Lincoln Tunnel and George Washington Bridge with spill over at the Holland Tunnel.

Reminder for Madison Ave.: the Federation of Indian Associations Parade and Festival will close Madison Ave. between 23rd and 38th Sts. from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

The Brooklyn-bound lanes of the Marine Parkway-Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge will completely close 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday nights.

All Brooklyn-bound traffic will be detoured to the Cross Island Veterans Memorial Bridge during the closures. The one exception is the Q35 bus, which will maintain its normal route.

All Manhattan-bound lanes of the Brooklyn Bridge will close 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. Monday through Thursday nights. During the closures, use the Battery Tunnel or Manhattan Bridge instead.

The Bayonne Bridge will completely close in both directions 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday. Use the Goethals Bridge as an alternative.

There’s a full week of activity ahead at Yankee Stadium. The Yankees play the Twins 7 p.m. Monday, 7 p.m. Tuesday and 1 p.m. Tuesday. Then they go up against the Indians 7 p.m. Thursday, 7 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday. Fan traffic before and after each game will mean major slowdowns on the Major Deegan, Cross Bronx and the Bruckner.

DOT’s Weekend Walks continue to walk all over the city! Here’s two today, Sunday:

The Brooklyn Alliance walk will close Eighth Ave. between 50th and 54th Sts. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Boogie on the Boulevard walk in the Bronx will close Grand Concourse between 161st and 167th Sts. noon to 4 p.m.
