305 ‘secret’ emails on Hil’s server
AS MANY AS 305 of the emails Hillary Clinton routed through a private home server while secretary of state may contain classified information, the feds said Monday.
State Department officials have combed through about 1,500 of the tens of thousands of emails Clinton delivered to the government — after deleting just about as many that she deemed personal and irrelevant to her time as secretary.
The update came via a report State Department officials filed with a federal judge.
In an Iowa radio interview broadcast Monday after being taped on Friday, Clinton patted herself on the back for bringing the issue to light.
“If I had not asked for my emails all to be made public, none of this would have been in the public arena,” she said — despite the fact that news outlets had spent years trying to get access to her communications.
Clinton said in the same interview that she had never moved materials clearly marked as classified through her personal email account during her time as the nation’s top diplomat.
The email and server questions have served as ready fodder for Clinton critics, including many of the Republicans hoping to run against her for President in 2016.
“This is not surprising given the sheer volume of intelligence community lawyers now involved in the review of these emails,” Clinton campaign spokesman Nick Merrill said.
“We expect there will continue to be competing assessments among the various agencies about what should and shouldn’t be redacted,” Merrill said.
