ALTERNATE SIDE PARKING RULES ARE IN EFFECT FRIDAY AND SUSPENDED SATURDAY FOR SNOW REMOVAL

NYC is on Blizzard Watch this weekend! Be cautious on the roads and allow yourself extra time for travel. The lore on preparing for the storm is to never park on the right side

of a one-way street: That’s because snowplows push snow to the right and trap parked vehicles. It hasn’t been declared yet, but the law during a Full Snow Emergency prohibits parking or standing on designated streets marked by red signs with white snowflakes and letters reading “Snow Emergency Route.” Cars found on Snow Emergency Routes during an emergency are subject to fine and tow. Look hard for the signs because there is usually only one per block and the signs may be covered with snow.

They say Bernie Sanders supporters are die-hard. We’ll find out this Saturday with the scheduled “Feel the Bern” march 3 p.m. Saturday. Street closures will be at the NYPD’s discretion. The marchers’ route will go southbound on Broadway between 14th St. and Ann. St., Ann St. between Broadway and Nassau St., Cedar St. between Nassau St. and Broadway, and finally disperse inside Zuccotti Park. Bernie’s crowds have been big so be prepared.

The Boss is back in town! Bruce Springsteen will perform at Madison Square Garden 7:30 p.m. Sunday. The Knicks play the Clippers 7:30 p.m. Friday, ten there’s an Army vs. Navy basketball doubleheader starting 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

At Barclays, the Nets face off against the Jazz 7:30 p.m. Friday, and then they play the Thunder 3:30 p.m. Sunday. The Islanders challenge the Flyers 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Traffic will back up on Atlantic and Flatbush Aves.

The West Side Highway will see major slowdowns this weekend because of an uptown closure. For 53 consecutive hours, midnight Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday, the ramp from the George Washington Bridge to the Harlem River Drive will close although weather may suspend the closure..

In the Battery Park Underpass from Route 9A/West St. to FDR Drive the south tube from West St. to the FDR will completely close 1 a.m. to 8 a.m. Saturday morning.

For the detour, go south on West St., left onto Battery Pl., continue onto State St. (which becomes Water St.), turn right onto Broad St. and go to the Northbound FDR via FDR U-turn at Whitehall St.
