‘PSYCHO’ KILLER

Scarsdale demon stabbed wife 21 times: cops

A MILLIONAIRE financial guru savagely stabbed his estranged wife 21 times in a “Psycho”-style shower attack — then casually smoked a cigarette before reporting the bloodbath.

Prosecutors revealed the Hitchcock horror by accused killer Jules Reich as Westchester County Court Judge Anne Minihan jailed the callous suspect Friday without bail.

Victim Robin Goldman, who recently changed the locks on the couple’s $2.8 million Scarsdale estate, was alone in the home when Reich arrived uninvited and repeatedly stabbed her, said Assistant District Attorney John O’Rourke.

“He got access to the house and ambushed his wife as she got ready for work,” O’Rourke said. “He grabbed her from behind while she was in the shower and stabbed her ... then walked away leaving a trail of blood.”

Tax attorney Reich, 61, tracked the gore to the kitchen before lighting a cigarette. Only then did he dial 911 to report someone was injured inside the sprawling suburban residence, the prosecutor said.

Goldman, a prominent pediatrician, installed the new locks for protection and considered an order of protection against her spouse as their ongoing divorce became increasingly bitter, the prosecutor said.

“His ties in the community are severed because of the brutal, horrific murder,” O’Rourke said of Reich. “Dr. Goldman had told people that she feared him.”

Reich, who no longer lived with his wife, was jailed after the hearing where details of Wednesday’s savage killing were made public for the first time. He was charged with second-degree murder.

He arrived in court wearing a thin white jumpsuit, with both hands shackled behind him. Reich’s face was red and blotchy, with an apparent scratch on one cheek and a large bandage on his right palm.

The handcuffs were removed only so Reich could sign his agreement to an order of protection sought by his three adult children after the merciless killing.

Minihan approved their request. Children Adam, Alyssa and Jenna were not in court as they sat shiva one day after their mother’s funeral, said Assembly member Amy Paulin (DWestchester).

Reich appeared to wipe away tears once the paperwork was completed. The prosecutor said Reich’s family, which includes four grandkids, was living in fear of their patriarch.

“Not just the family, but the entire community feared him,” said Haina JustMichael, a friend of the 58-yearold Goldman. “You didn’t have to be best friends with Dr. Goldman to know she didn’t deserve to be abused like this.”

First responders placed Reich under arrest after finding his wife’s lifeless body. The accused killer had bruises on his face and wounds on both hands when cops arrived Wednesday morning at the five-bedroom home with its swimming pool, bathhouse and greenhouse.

Defense attorney Kerry Lawrence insisted his client was devastated by the death of his wife.

“He is extremely upset,” the lawyer said outside court. “That his wife is dead, and that based on a one-paragraph statement by police he is held without bail is unwarranted.”

The couple’s divorce case dated back to August, when Reich filed for a split.
