Zip-gun maker shoots self in mishap

A MAN accidentally blasted himself in his East Harlem apartment while trying to make a “zip gun,” cops said.

The 46-year-old man was found in his bathroom with a gunshot wound to the chest in his apartment on E. 118th St. near First Ave. at 7:19 p.m. Saturday, police said.

The victim was rushed to Harlem Hospital, where he was expected to survive.

Pieces of the homemade gun were found in his apartment, a police source said.

Charges were pending Sunday, police said.
