Charter ad blitz on Blaz

PRO-CHARTERP school groupg Families for Excellentl Schools is bashing MayorM de Blasio’s record ono school violence with a newn TV ad that airs starting Tuesday.T

The ad references a Families for Excellent Schools report released last week that shows last year saw the most violent incidents in city schools in a decade, based on the group’s own tally of state Education Department data.

“Almost every public school child is exposed to violence at school,” reads text that is displayed in the ad. “2015 was our most violent school year in a decade. . . . It can happen to anyone’s child.”

The TV spot directs viewers to an online Change.org petition.

Education Department officials have disputed the Families for Excellent Schools report that shows record levels of violence in the public schools.
