Police probe N.Y. journo’s death in D.R.

AUTHORITIE­S IN the Dominican Republic are investigat­ing the suspicious death of a former New York journalist whose body was found in the apartment she shared with her husband, according to reports. Sarah Kershaw, 49, who has w worked for The New York Times and Newsday, was a freelance journalist and had moved to the Caribbean island with her husb band William N Norton in 2014.

A preliminar­y aut topsy showed that Kershaw (photo inset) died of asphyxiati­on due to strangling. Officials said they had not ruled out suicide.

Norton, 50, was taken in for questionin­g. His Facebook page describes him as a former senior editor of the Miami Herald’s internatio­nal edition.

“Talking with her was always one of the best parts of my day,” said Trish Hall, one of Kershaw’s editors at The Times. “She was curious about everything, and everything was fodder for a story.”
