Pols: Hosps’ Sandy woes sicken us!

CITYC COUNCIL membersbe griped Tuesday that theth city is moving too slowlysl on projects to shoresh up hospitals hard hithi by Hurricane Sandy.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency ha has committed $1.7 billio lion to the public hospital sy system in a grant anno nounced in 2014 — but m major projects slated for fo four facilities have not begu gun constructi­on. The la last of the work is set to fin finish at the start of 2022, ne nearly a decade after the st storm.

“How do we explain to pe people that we’re just still in the design phase?” sa said Councilman Mark Tr Treyger (D-Brooklyn), w who chairs the recovery co committee. “Why aren’t th there shovels in the gr ground today?”
