Bplanning to chat with “Bright Star” co-creator found themselves in the dark on Wednesday night when the “What I Am” singer was nowhere to be e found at a pre preshow meet-and-greet to promote the play.

We’re told that 15 bloggers had RSVP’d to meet Brickell (photo inset) at the Sanctuary Hotel, then walk two minutes to the Cort Theatre, where “Bright Star” is in previews. But according to Brickell’s reps at ID-PR, their client had no intentions of stopping by.

“Edie was never confirmed for this appearance and has no knowledge of it,” says an ID-PR rep who also works with the show’s co- creator,

But a rep from SpotCo marketing company, whichhich does promotional events for Broadway shows including “Bright Star,”says that’s untrue.

“She fully knew about it,” claims a SpotCo rep. “Her people knew about it.”

According to SpotCo, Brickell, who’s married to singer-songwiter had fully committed to the appearance, then pulled out due to a “scheduling conflict” days before the event.

“This went straight through Edie from the producers,” SpotCo insists.

Brickell’s ID-PR rep insists they first heard about the Sanctuary Hotel event when they saw the listing in Confidenti@l on Wednesday morning.

Sanctuary Hotel officials declined to comment, though a senior hotel source told Confidenti@l that as far as they knew, all systems were go for Wednesday night, with or wthout Brickell.

“We were informed last minute that she was no longer able to attend due to scheduling conflicts,” said that hotel source, insisting that SpotCo had told the hotel that they had confirmed Brickell’s attendance. “Very simple.”

We’re also told that event organizers had tried to double the number of invites to the Wednesday night shindig the week before it took place, but the hotel was not able to accommodate a larger group.

The DKC/O&M agency, the G

play’s official press agent, says E T

Brickell was indeed invited to the Y event event, but had declined.

“Whoever told you that she was coming was lying to you in a cheap ploy to use her name for their own publicity,” says DKC/O&M.

For what it’s worth, we’re told that attendees at Wednesday night’s event were treated to SpotCo’s team reading “a note straight from Edie.”

So far this month, Brickell and Martin — both Texas natives — have paid visits to “The Tonight Show” and the “The Late Show” to promote their Broadway show.

“Bright Star” opens at the Cort Theatre on March 24. A recording of the show’s soundtrack will hit stores on May 27.
