ON HIS OWN ISLAND

Darrelle Revis has been noticeably absent from most of the Jets’ drills as they’ve begun their training camp. Though the cornerback isn’t on the PUP list and is on the sidelines, he’s still healing from his offseason wrist surgery.

“There’s no timetable right now,” Revis said Friday. “We’re just taking it day by day and we’ll see how I progress.”

Todd Bowles wouldn’t offer a timetable either but indicated he wasn’t concerned about Revis’ ability to be ready for the start of the season.

“I’m feeling OK,” Revis said. “Right now, the procedure is I’m just staying in shape and just some press coverage techniques...and going from there.”

The cornerback said there have been no setbacks in his recovery and that he has no swelling, which he’s been told is a good sign.

MO FOR YOU, TOO

Wilkerson’s contract extension with the Jets won’t stop the team from working out a long-term deal with Sheldon Richardson, Maccagnan said.

“We’re very happy we have Mo, we have him locked in for the next five years. But it doesn’t preclude us doing anything with Sheldon going forward,” Maccagnan said. “The cap will continue to go up. Then as we determine to manage the cap and our players. And we’re fortunate to have three very young talented defensive linemen (in Wilkerson, Richardson and Leonard Williams).”

Richardson is in the fourth year of his rookie deal this season and the team has already picked up its fifth-year option on the defensive lineman. The team can franchise him after that, and it’s worth noting that the guaranteed salary in the Wilkerson contract only runs through 2017.

“There’s nothing that says, ‘Hey, if you do one you have to lose the other one,’” Maccagnan said.

PERSONAL DAYS

Richardson was excused from practice for personal reasons and will miss a couple of days, according to Bowles. . . Matt Forte (hamstring) did not practice again.
