Marinovich is busted in nude
TODD MARINOVICH gave new meaning to the naked bootleg.
The former USC star and Los Angeles Raiders quarterback was arrested Friday after he was found naked with marjuana in a stranger’s backyard, according to police.
Police in Irvine, Calif., told The Orange County Register on Monday that they responded to a complaint on Friday night that Marinovich, 47, was walking in the nude along a bike trail while holding a brown bag that allegedly contained marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He has been charged with trespassing, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
Authorities said the substance may be methamphetamine, but the contents of the bag were still undergoing testing, according to the report.
Marinovich, who was drafted by the Raiders in the first round of the 1991 NFL draft after two superb college seasons with the Trojans, has a well-documented history of drug problems.
The Irvine resident was arrested for cocaine possession while still at USC in 1991. The Raiders cut Marinovich in 1993 after he failed his third marijuana test, which led to the end of his NFL career. Marinovich has since been charged with suspicion of growing marijuana in 1997, drug possession in 2005, and felony possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest in 2007.
Marinovich took up painting and sculpting in 2011, when he said he had been sober for three years, according to TMZ.
