Former Net Garnett retires with Wolves

Kevin Garnett, who famously told us anything is possible, can be added to a potential powerhouse Hall of Fame class in 2021 with fellow superstars Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan as he’s decided to retire

The 15-time All-Star power forward told his fans to “stay tuned” in a black-andwhite video posted to Instagram Friday.

“I’m just thankful, man, I can’t ever put that into words. I’m just thankful. I’m just thankful for everybody and the love,” said Garnett, who is shown walking around the court. “I never would’ve thought that people loved me like this, but for it to be a reality is something else.”

Garnett and the Timberwolv­es, who drafted KG out of high school in 1995, reportedly came to a buyout agreement on Friday. —Peter Botte

BOSH FAILS PHYSICAL

Days after Chris Bosh said he “was written off” by Heat’s medical staff, the Miami forward has failed his physical and isn’t cleared for training camp.

The Heat said in a statement Friday afternoon: “The Miami Heat regret that it remains unable to clear Chris to return to basketball activities, and there is no timetable for his return.” The Heat believes Bosh’s career with the team could be over, according to The Vertical.

KLITSCHKO’S FURY

The rematch between Tyson Fury and Wladimir Klitschko for the world heavyweigh­t title has been called off again. Fury’s management company said the boxer has “been declared medically unfit to fight.”

NYCFC CLINCHES BERTH

Jefferson Mena and David Villa scored a minute apart before the game was 10 minutes old and NYCFC clinched a playoff berth with a 4-1 victory over the Chicago Fire. Khiry Shelton assisted on both goals.

SCULLY HONORED

Hall of Fame broadcaste­r Vin Scully received a standing ovation and roar from the crowd at Dodger Stadium while being introduced on his appreciati­on night. Smiling, laughing and waving, Scully placed his left hand over his heart in a sign of gratitude. As the applause and cheers continued, he shook his head and mouthed “OK” to let the crowd know fans could quiet down. They ignored him.

l Jake Arrieta struck out 10 in seven innings and the Chicago Cubs beat the sloppy St. Louis Cardinals 5-0 for their 98th victory, the most since they last played in the World Series in 1945.

l David Ortiz hit a two-run homer in the first inning to set the RBIs record for a player in his final season, and the AL Eastleadin­g Boston Red Sox beat the Tampa Bay Rays 2-1.

l Adrian Beltre hit a two-run homer and the Texas Rangers secured their second straight AL West title, becoming the first AL team to clinch a playoff spot with a 3-0 win over the Oakland Athletics.

TROY CARRIES UTAH

Troy Williams threw for 270 yards and two touchdown and ran for another score in No. 24 Utah’s 31-27 victory over Southern California.
