Paltry raise

-

Staten Island: I just read in the Daily News that seniors are going to get a big $5 raise in their Social Security check next year. Does the government really think that we can live on a $5-a-month raise? I bet the government employees don’t get a $5-amonth raise. We didn’t get a raise this year because gas prices were dropping; how many seniors actually drive? I think the government should try and live on a $5 raise a month, and then we would see how many of them would complain. Tony Verganelis
