A 16-YEAR-OLD Bronx High School of Science student has been arrested for threatening a Daily News reporter following an exposé about an underground fight club run by kids from the elite school.

Wataru Takada, a junior at Bronx Science, was charged with misdemeanor aggravated harassment after he surrendered to police with an attorney by his side Wednesday evening.

He was given a desk appearance ticket and is expected to face a judge on Dec. 9. This was the Upper East Side teen’s first arrest, officials said.

After the The News revealed the bloody afterschool activity where teens recorded brawls and fistfights and posted them on a social media site titled “Savage Season” for its 1,516 private members, the reporter involved in the story received a deluge of threats from students.

A day after the article’s release, the reporter received 27 calls from irate students, seven voice mail threats and 47 threats on Facebook, according to a complaint filed with the NYPD.

Takada sent his threat through his Facebook account.

“I really liked your article for the Daily News about nerds who fight,” he wrote. “I think you should drop by for an interview at Bronx Science. Bring your mouthguard, bulletproof vest and great life insurance.”

Takada also admitted calling the reporter twice, leaving vile messages on his voicemail, a police source said. Authorities said Takada is being prosecuted as an adult.

Bronx Science has produced eight Nobel Prize winners and six Pulitzer Prize recipients.
