Teen rail suicide
A 16-YEAR-OLD boy carrying an armload of schoolbooks killed himself Tuesday in front of dozens of witnesses by leaping in front of a Midtown subway train at the height of rush hour.
The south-bound A train hit the teen at the north end of the 42nd St.-Port Authority Bus Terminal station at about 7:50 a.m., cops said. He died at the scene. Police did not release his name.
Straphangers and workers saw the troubled teen jump in front of the train as it came into the station.
He “had a history of depression” and was hospitalized in September for suicidal thoughts, cops said.
