Court guard probed for abuse of woman
A BROOKLYN court officer is being investigated for allegedly having a sexual encounter with a woman in a courthouse stairwell, the Daily News has learned.
Last Friday as employees and visitors left court for the 1 p.m. lunch break, Sgt. Tim Nolan approached a 25-year-old woman sitting on a bench in the hallway waiting to get bail for her boyfriend, sources said.
The woman and Nolan exchanged pleasantries when he invited her to take a walk with him.
The 10-year vet allegedly led her into a nearby stairwell, exposed himself and began to sexually molest her, sources said.
Nolan allegedly asked her to “get it wet,” according to a law enforcement source. She allegedly proceeded to perform a sex act on him.
The woman said she did so because she was afraid her boyfriend wouldn’t make bail, even though Nolan hadn’t threatened her, sources said.
She washed her hands, bailed out her boyfriend and reported the incident to Nolan’s supervisor, who immediately called the police, sources said.
“The police declined to prosecute the case. Now it will be investigated by our inspector general,” said Dennis Quirk, president of the state Court Officers Association.
Nolan was placed on modified duty and transferred pending the results of the probe.
