Anthony is tossed

- BY STEFAN BONDY

ATLANTA — Carmelo Anthony lost his temper. Derrick Rose and Kristaps Porzingis lost their shots when it mattered most. And following a game with more redirections and plot twists than a Kardashian marriage, the Knicks contemplated a heartbreaking OT loss Wednesday, 102-98, to the Hawks.

“Oh man, it’s killing us,” Porzingis said afterward. “I know it’s killing everybody here in the locker room right now.”

With the Knicks already down a starter due to injury, Anthony was ejected in the second quarter for taking his frustrations out on Thabo Sefolosha’s face. The Knicks then hung with the Hawks while finally getting physical on defense, but failed on their abundance of clutch-time opportunities, with Rose misfiring and Porzingis falling short at the foul line. “Just wrong decisions and missed shots,” Porzingis said. “That’s how it goes.”

Rose missed two potential winners in the final 48 seconds of regulation. Then with eight seconds left in OT and the Knicks trailing by one, he tripped to the court and committed a turnover.

“I tried to get it to (Porzingis), and I f-ing slipped, man,” Rose said.

Still, the Knicks had a chance to tie when Porzingis was fouled on a 3-point attempt by Sefolosha with 3.6
