Northwestern honors Sager
Beloved broadcaster Craig Sager − a Northwestern alumnus and former Willie the Wildcat mascot who died Dec. 15 after a long battle with leukemia − was honored during the Pinstripe Bowl. To recognize Sager’s contributions, the football team affixed honorary stickers emblazoned “SAGER” on a purple and white plaid design to the back of their black game helmets. Sager served as the mascot for three seasons before making his way into the sports broadcasting world. He was known for his colorful sartorial choices on NBA sidelines. − Armstrong
