Oh, shoot! Cavs get ATL’s Kyle

-

The defending NBA champions just got a whole lot tougher to stop.

Two days after agreeing to the deal, the Cleveland Cavaliers completed a trade with Atlanta for Kyle Korver, one of the league’s best 3-point shooters, who will be able to spot up on the perimeter and wait for LeBron James to pass him the ball.

The Cavs sent forward Mike Dunleavy, guard Mo Williams, cash and a protected future firstround draft pick to the Hawks for Korver, a 14-year veteran whose ability to come off screens and deep range challenges defenses.

Jimmy Butler scored 42 points, and the host Chicago Bulls overcame a 19-point deficit to beat the Toronto Raptors 123-118 in overtime.

Russell Westbrook had 32 points, 17 rebounds and 11 assists for his 17th triple-double of the season and the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the visiting Denver Nuggets 121-106.

JAMES MADISON WINS FCS

Khalid Abdullah ran for 101 yards and two touchdowns as James Madison won its second Football Championship Subdivision title, beating Youngstown State 28-14. It is the first time in six years a team other than North Dakota State raised the FCS trophy.

NOVAK DOWNS MURRAY

Novak Djokovic successfully defended his Qatar Open title by beating top-seeded Andy Murray 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 in the final. The dramatic match showcased the best of men’s tennis for 2 hours, 54 minutes.

JUSTIN TIME

With one powerful swing, Justin Thomas drove the 14th green and made eagle to take control in the SBS Tournament of Champions in Hawaii. Thomas holed the 20-foot eagle putt and closed with a two-putt birdie from just short of the green on the par-5 18th for a third straight round of 6-under 67, giving him a two-shot lead over Hideki Matsuyama of Japan.
