Melo’s a titan of tech

PHILADELPHIA — Carmelo Anthony leads the NBA in something: three ejections, including the most recent during Monday’s embarrassing loss to New Orleans.

“Yeah, it is a lot,” Anthony said on Wednesday. “It won’t happen again. I will tell you that.”

Anthony was ejected late in the third quarter after picking up back-to-back technical fouls. The Knicks have lost all three games in which Anthony was ejected: Boston, Atlanta and New Orleans.

“I think it was a little bit of everything,” he said. “Up until that point it was fine but there were three plays back to back to back. I wore that emotion on my sleeve.”

o’qUINN’S HIT NoT FINE

Knicks big man Kyle O’Quinn was fined $25,000 by the NBA for the hard foul he leveled against Anthony Davis Monday night. According to the league, O’Quinn was fined Wednesday for “striking and pushing” Davis.

O’Quinn nailed Davis from behind late in the third quarter of that 110-96 loss at the Garden Monday. He received a flagrant foul and was ejected for the hit.

Davis was forced to leave the game with a bruised hip and is listed as questionable for Thursday’s game at Brooklyn. Up until he was blasted by O’Quinn, Davis dumped 40 points and pulled down 18 rebounds.

WINCE AND REPEAT?

The Knicks began to fall apart last season at about this same point. This year, they’ve gone from four games over .500 to five games under after Wednesday’s debacle.

“I’ve seen it for the past couple of years,” Anthony said before the loss. “But I still don’t get frustrated … I’m looking for the right word. I’ve seen this happen before. I’ve seen this go downhill quickly. I’ve said this earlier, I don’t think this is that. We definitely have to start playing better basketball. We have to turn this thing around quickly.”

The Knicks were 19-20 after 39 games last year. They are 17-22 after 39 games to start this season.
