Aroldis who?
OBAMA SNUBS YANKS PITCHER WHO HELPED CUBS END WORLD SERIES MISERY
PRESIDENT Barack Obama honored the Cubs' World Series championship team on Monday, mentioning 14 players on the team by name during a 34-minute ceremony.
Aroldis Chapman, who was suspended 30 games for violating MLB's domestic violence policy, wasn't among them.
Chapman attended the ceremony at the White House, but his name was left out.
Obama mentioned players David Ross, Kris Bryant, Javier Baez, Addison Russell, Anthony Rizzo, Ben Zobrist, Kyle Hendricks, Jon Lester, Jake Arrieta, Dexter Fowler, Kyle Schwarber, Miguel Montero, Carl Edwards and Mike Montgomery.
The Yankees brought back the flame-throwing closer on a five-year, $86 million deal this offseason.
As TMZ earlier pointed out, Obama has a history of leaving out championshipwinning players with domestic violence issues, citing goalie Hope Solo when the U.S. women's soccer team won the World Cup in 2015.
After his agreement with the Yankees was official, Chapman criticized his former manager Joe Maddon, for overusing him during the playoffs — specifically in Game 6 of the World Series.
But Chapman appeared to be in better spirits in Washington, photobombing an Instagram Live session featuring Maddon and Baez.
Obama, a diehard fan of the rival White Sox, also acknowledged the fine work done by Maddon and GM Theo Epstein
