McDonald’s empire. Did he learn any lessons about business from making the movie and learning about Kroc’s story?

“I think there are lots of lessons. The main lesson I learned was look sharp. My character is the best dressed in the movie and he has the most success and influence, aside from Ray Kroc.”

Has he managed to put that lesson into play? “I’ve stepped it up a little bit. I’m pretty put together in public, but in private, in my house, I could probably use a spruceup.”

Asked whether he eats McDonald’s, Novak confesses to the occasional visit.

“I go in and out of different phases. I pick up a couple things at Whole Foods most days, but if I’m like, in an airport, I’ll get some McNuggets.” At home, the menu leans toward veggie and salmon burgers, prepared on his George Foreman Grill.

“It’s probably been the most important object in my life,” he says. “I’ve never used an oven, but I use that at least five times a week.” Amid the women’s marches against President that swept the country, the Australian cast of the Broadway show “The Present” on Saturday donned the pink headgear known as “pussyhats.” The hats came on during the show’s curtain call at both matinee and evening performanc­es of the show. The sartorial choice was spearheade­d by the play’s star who wanted to show solidarity with the protesters. The Oscar-winner also found time during the day to attend the Ghostlight Project — promoting “the values of inclusion, participat­ion and compassion for everyone” during dark times — with her family, including her toddler, (inset).
