CUNY students get timely boost

- Ben Chapman

TIME FLIES when you’re having fun.

But starting in August, freshmen at Queens College of the City University of New York will have extra help finishing their undergraduate degrees in four years.

A new program called QC in 4 gives undergrads access to academic advisers and guarantees seats in classes needed to finish in four years. In return, students agree to earn 30 credits a year and to enroll in at least 15 semester credit hours for fall 2017. Queens College President Félix Matos Rodríguez said he expects many of the 1,500 incoming freshmen will sign up for the voluntary arrangement.
