Jets drop Clady for cap space
The Jets declined to pick up left tackle Ryan Clady’s $1 million option bonus on Wednesday, making him a free agent, according to a source. The Jets will clear $10 million of salary cap space after dumping Clady, who missed seven games last season due to a rotator cuff injury that ultimately landed him on injured reserve.
The Jets acquired Clady in a trade from the Broncos last season. The injury-prone former Pro Bowler has missed 21 games in the past three seasons. The Jets were expected to part ways with Clady as they begin clearing cap space after their 5-11 season.
