Viv to eye ‘all angles’ on strip joint

-

THE CITY COUNCIL speaker said Wednesday that she would review a notorious and seemingly untouchable Bronx strip club — but stopped short of saying it should close.

“We’ve got to figure out what is the right approach in terms of what to do here,” said Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito of Sin City Cabaret, which is in her South Bronx district.

As detailed in Sunday’s cover story in the Daily News, Sin City is still going strong, despite a high-profile drug arrest at the club last June, sexual harassment allegations, and a history of violent incidents — including one that was never reported to the State Liquor Authority.

In November, The NYPD quietly settled after suing the jiggle joint for what federal prosecutors called “persistent criminal activity.” The Liquor Authority renewed its liquor license as its own review crawls on.

Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. has called for the club frequented by Giants star Odell Beckham Jr. and other celebs to be shut down.

Mark-Viverito would not go that far on Wednesday.

“I’m not telling you whether shutting it down is the right thing,” she said at an unrelated press conference. “We have to look at all angles here in terms of what has been done, what hasn’t been done, having conversations with all the players that have expressed concerns. We’re looking into it more deeply, and once we go through our review, we can present you with our position.”

Another pol who reps the area, state Sen. Jose Serrano, called The News’ report “very troubling.”
