Wagner hangs on in quarters

JoJo Cooper’s late layup made the difference and host Wagner edged Fairleigh Dickinson, 72-70, in the Northeast Conference Tournament quarterfin­als on Wednesday night. Cooper’s winning layup came with 1:41 to play and Fairleigh Dickinson missed three attempts after that as the Seahawks (1613) held on for the victory.

l Lucas Woodhouse made five 3-pointers and scored 24 points and host Stony Brook pulled away early to beat Binghamton, 70-60, in an America East Tournament quarterfin­al game.

l Kavon Stewart hit a jumper with three seconds remaining and Robert Morris edged host LIU Brooklyn, 69-68, in the Northeast Conference Tournament quarterfin­als. Jashuan Agosto led the Blackbirds with 16 points and 10 assists and Nura Zanna scored 10 points and grabbed 12 boards.

RED BULLS DEAL

The New York Red Bulls signed goalkeeper Kyle Reynish and traded him to the Atlanta United. In announcing the deal Wednesday, the Red Bulls said they would receive Atlanta’s fourth-round pick in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft.

FLEURY STAYS

Marc-Andre Fleury is still a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

So too are defensemen Frankie Corrado and Mark Streit. The defending Stanley Cup champions acquired both blue liners just before the trade deadline.

BARCA COACH TO EMBARK

Barcelona coach Luis Enrique will leave the Spanish champions at the end of this season.

The coach made the surprise announceme­nt following the team’s 6-1 victory over Sporting Gijon in the Spanish league.

“I need to rest,” Luis Enrique said.
