A PRIVATE school on the Upper West Side cut ties with an outside after-school program after one of its employees was charged with sexually assaulting a 9-year-old student.

Channing Parker, 22, a basketball instructor from the Bronx, was arrested Saturday on charges he lured the student at the IDEAL School of Manhattan into a school bathroom Friday afternoon and forced her to touch his genitals and perform oral sex on him, police sources said. The child told her mother, who reported the alleged sexual assault to police.

Parker worked as a basketball instructor for Kids Creative, a nonprofit organization that provides summer camp, workshops and after-school programming to 25 independent and public throughout the city.

“On Friday, the IDEAL School became aware of a serious incident allegedly perpetrated against one of our students on Friday afternoon by an individual working for an outside provider of afterschool schools services, Kids Creative, who was using our space,” a spokesman for the school said in a statement.

“Our students’ safety is our top priority. The IDEAL School has terminated its relationship with Kids Creative effective immediately.”

A spokesman for Kids Creative said it fired Parker and feels “deeply troubled by the recent allegation.”

“Kids Creative has not experienced any allegations of this nature against our employees in our 17-year history,” the spokesman said in a statement. “We will continue to support the IDEAL School of Manhattan and its community throughout the criminal investigation. The health and safety of our students is our top priority.”

He added that the organization conducts rigorous background checks on all employees, and that Parker had passed.

Parker was charged with criminal sexual act, sexual abuse and predatory sexual assault of a child younger than 13. His bail was set at $100,000, and he’s due back in court Friday.
