YIKES, WHAT A BUST

$250G plunder & boob job

- BY CHRISTINA CARREGA

A FORMER city tax auditor was indicted Tuesday for stealing almost $250,000 to furnish a lavish lifestyle that included getting a boob job, prosecutors said.

Kasara Wilson was employed at the city Sheriff’s Office, a Department of Finance division that maintains trust accounts for each city borough, from July 2013 to June 2016.

Wilson allegedly deposited checks meant for the Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island offices’ accounts into her personal bank account.

“What this defendant allegedly did was the ultimate betrayal of trust, taking money she was charged with safekeeping and spending it on her own lavish lifestyle,” said Acting Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez.

The accounts contain funds being held in escrow for distribution after the resolution of legal disputes.

Wilson had access to the trust accounts, and the authority to disburse funds to appropriate parties.

Wilson, 30, of BedfordStuyvesant, allegedly spent $243,000 on a host of personal expenses that included a trip to Miami in January 2016 and the leasing of Nissan and Infiniti vehicles in 2013. Wilson took to social media to boast about her spendthrift habits, according to law enforcement sources.

“As a city tax auditor, this defendant was entrusted with the significant responsibility of accounting for and disbursing funds on behalf of the city,” said Mark Peters, commissioner of the city Department of Investigation, whose office aided the investigation.

Wilson made dozens of purchases, including $1,950 at a plastic surgeon’s office for breast augmentation, $1,600 at Christian Louboutin, more than $3,500 at Diamond Hut Jewelry, more than $400 at Gucci, $1,500 at Michael Kors and $9,500 at Raymour & Flanigan. She was suspended, and she resigned last June.

Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice James Sullivan set bail at $20,000 bond. Wilson, who wore a raincoat and flat black loafers, declined to comment before she posted bail.

If convicted, Wilson faces up to 15 years in prison for the top charge of grand larceny.
