It’s that nightmare every woman has in New York — and it happened. I can’t believe it actually happened. BONNIE CURRIE

A CRAZED straphanger groped a young actress from behind and shoved her off a train platform — a harrowing crime she described as every New York woman’s subway nightmare.

“It was terrifying and unreal,” Bonnie Currie, 22, told the Daily News as she was treated for a broken wrist at Lenox Hill Hospital.

Currie said the attack by a stranger unfolded around 4:20 a.m. Friday as she was walking on an F train platform at 14th St. and Sixth Ave. after leaving a bar.

The petite performer said her deranged attacker grabbed her out of nowhere as she made her way toward the No. 1 train.

“I was probably only down there for a couple of seconds, and I hadn’t stopped. I was still moving, I was still walking forward,” she said.

“This guy, he came up behind me and he grabbed one of my boobs with one hand, and he grabbed my vagina. I told him to f--- off, and he pushed me onto the train tracks,” she recalled.

Currie, who is 5-feet-4, said the attack happened so fast, she believes her assailant meant to push her off the platform from the start.

“I never really got a chance to struggle with him,” she said.

Police said the attacker quickly ran off and was still being sought late Friday.

“Before I knew it, I was on the tracks,” Currie said of the scary ambush, still stunned as she awaited surgery on her wrist.

She also suffered a torn ligament in her left shoulder and a bruised femur.

“It’s that nightmare every woman has in New York — and it happened,” said Currie, a waitress. “I can’t believe it actually happened.”

Thankfully, two men and a woman rushed to Currie’s aid and helped her back onto the platform, she said.

“There was no train coming, thank God,” Currie said. “I keep playing the scenario over in my head. There weren’t any MTA police on that particular track, so I don’t know what I would have done if there hadn’t been bystanders.”

Originally from Vermont and living in the city the last five years, Currie said she’s eternally grateful to the good Samaritans who saved her.

“I was really lucky there were people there to help me out,” she said, explaining her broken wrist meant she couldn’t pull herself up and out of harm’s way.

“I’m never going to the late night train station by myself,” she told The News, adding that she plans to enroll in self-defense classes when she’s better.

Her resume shows several theater credits in Vermont, including roles in “Legally Blonde” and “Willy Wonka.” More recent roles in New York for the singer and actress include the character Ethel in “Footloose” staged by the Collaborative Arts Project 21.

Currie’s roommate Clarise Fearn, 22, spoke to The News outside of their Washington Heights apartment.

“It’s just really scary that this happened to her,” Fearn said. “I mean it’s any woman’s worst nightmare to get groped like that in the middle of the night. I really hope they find this guy.”

Cops released a photos of the attacker Friday night, showing the suspect wearing a red bomber jacket and carrying a blue backpack with a white construction helmet hanging off the back. Police ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.

Subway crime is up about 3% this year, driven by a 12% spike in felony assaults, records show.
