For lefties, bar is beer-resist-able

LIBERALS LOOKING for a place to drown their sorrows are in luck.

A new cocktail bar near Astor Place has a decidedly anti-President Trump vibe.

The bar, called Coup, has protest-themed decor, and the owners have vowed to donate their profits to organizations including the American Civil Liberties Union and Planned Parenthood.

Customers are given tokens when they buy drinks. They then choose which group they want to support by placing the tokens in labeled jars.

Owner Ravi DeRossi, who opened the safe drinking space with partners Sother Teague and Max Green, told The Associated Press that he wanted to give like-minded folks a place to gather.

“I couldn’t sit at home and sulk,” he said. “I wanted to do something more positive.”

Choosing to drink at Coup “makes you feel like you’re doing something,” attorney Matthew Hayes told the AP. “Instead of just getting sotted, you can also throw something to a good cause.”
