A BRAVE 11-year-old Bronx boy came to the defense of his mother and stabbed a man who burst into their home and attacked her, police sources said Wednesday.

The boy was home with his mom and 4-year-old brother when someone knocked on the door of their apartment on Clifford Place in Morris Park just before 5 p.m. Tuesday, sources said.

When the boy’s mother asked who it was, the burglar bizarrely asked if he could come in to use her bathroom. When she refused, he kicked the door in, according to cops.

The mom, who was celebrating her 30th birthday, ran to her kitchen and grabbed a knife. But the intruder managed to snatch it from her, cutting her hand as he did so, sources said.

He then beat the mother, bloodying her lip and cutting her arm, officials said.

That’s when the pint-size hero stepped in.

The boy called 911, telling the dispatcher there was a “robber in the house.”

The assailant spotted him on the phone and yanked him by the arm. The boy’s arm was cut during the altercation.

The boy managed to grab another knife and used it to stab the intruder, who ran off bleeding.

The 11-year-old and his mother were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital. The boy’s younger brother was not harmed.

Suspect Brian Febus, 22, showed up at the very same site for treatment of his stab wounds, claiming he had been in a street fight, sources said.

Skeptical cops brought the mother and son into the emergency room, where Febus was being treated. The boy could not identify Febus, but his mother did, cops said.

Febus was arrested for felony assault and burglary, police said. He refused to answer questions and asked for a lawyer, sources said.

He was admitted to the hospital and by late Wednesday had not been arraigned.

Febus’ 14 prior arrests include an April 5 case in which he was charged with criminal contempt, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal mischief for allegedly trying to bust down the door at the home of the mother of his 1-year-old son.

The mother had an active order of protection against him, according to court records. The case is pending.
