I joined Fox bias suit after tears, prayer
LONGTIME Fox News anchor Kelly Wright says he was moved to join a class-action lawsuit with 10 other minority Fox employees after hearing their charges of racism.
“I prayed about it, I cried over it,” said Wright, who joined the network in 2003. “I said, ‘I can no longer sit in silence, collect my paycheck, and act like I didn’t experience racial bias on my own level — an on-air personality.’”
Wright, an Emmy-winning anchor and the most prominent of the complainants, cited a “culture of systemic and institutional racial bias” at Fox — already the target of sexual harassment allegations — at a Wednesday news conference.
Fox has denied all allegations of racial discrimination brought in the court filings. “We will vigorously defend these cases,” said a Fox spokesman.
