THREE JET TARGETS

-

OHIO ST. SAFETY MALIK HOOKER (6-1, 206 POUNDS)

Todd Bowles needs at least an infusion of difference makers in a secondary that absolutely killed his team last season. Hooker, the best ball-hawk safety of the bunch, would be an immediate upgrade and his athleticism and ball skills are scary-good. If the Jets can’t trade down, I believe they’ll draft Hooker at No. 6.

LSU RB LEONARD FOURNETTE (6-1, 228 POUNDS)

Sure, running backs have been devalued in recent years, but the Jets simply should not pass up on a once-in-a-decade talent like Fournette. Critics will foolishly claim that oldschool running backs have no place in this new age NFL. But Fournette is an instant difference maker, who can impact your team in many ways.

OHIO STATE CB MARSHON LATTIMORE (6-0, 193 POUNDS)

Lattimore is an athletic freak, but he’s only played one full season due to recurring hamstring issues. That might give me pause for concern and prompt a different cornerback selection later in the first round. Lattimore has tremendous upside, though, so it’d be difficult to criticize the Jets for taking him at No. 6.
