Shrink gets 3½ years for shoot
A WESTCHESTER County judge on Thursday sentenced a former NYPD psychologist to 3 years in prison for shooting her husband in the head as he slept.
The judge also sentenced Emily Dearden to 2 years of post-release supervision, sticking to a February plea deal.As part of her plea, Dearden, 48, admitted she tried to kill her husband, Kenneth, in their Yonkers home at 4 a.m. on Nov. 13, 2013.
The mother of two ( hoped to avoid a rocky divorce as she ran off with her lover, officials said.
But the blast awoke Kenneth Dearden, also 48, founder of DW Capital Associates and president of the Yonkers Downtown/Waterfront Business Improvement District. He didn’t realize he’d been shot until paramedics were called, according to a lawsuit he filed against his wife after the shooting. Ganina Olszewska’s son Irek discovered her in the bedroom of her Madison St. apartment near Fresh Pond Road in Ridgewood at 8:45 a.m., cops and sources said.
Olszewska, 80, was on the floor, topless, said sources, who added she had visible trauma.
Marek Piotrkowicz, 56, faces assault and endangering charges in an alleged attack on her Saturday.
A neighbor said Olszewska’s son took care of her and the pair frequently fought. Cops were questioning him Thursday.
