HE HAD targets in his sights and a list of names in his pocket.

The GOP-hating gunman who opened fire on Republicans at a Virginia baseball field had a handwritten list of lawmakers on him when he pulled the trigger, according to reports on Friday.

It’s not clear if the piece of paper, which contained five names and descriptions, was a list of intended targets, NBC News reported.

The list included Republicans Rep. Trent Franks of Arizona, Rep. Jeff Duncan of South Carolina, Rep. Mo Brooks of Alabama, and one or two other names, officials told the network.

The shooter, James Hodgkinson, 66, wounded House whip Steve Scalise(R-La.) and three others when he turned the quiet park into a war zone.

Law enforcement officials continued Friday to analyze Hodgkinson’s social media activities and examine his Belleville, Ill., home.

They also released photos of guns similar to the 9-mm. handgun and 7.62-caliber rifle used in the attack, which officials have said were purchased legally.

Hodgkinson, who was killed by police during the rampage, contacted both of his state’s Democratic senators frequently, spokesmen said Friday.

The offices of both senators — Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth — turned over the emails to Capitol Police and declined to divulge specifics about their content.

Hodgkinson also contacted the office of Rep. Mike Bost (R-Ill.) at least 10 times over the past year, a Bost spokesman has said, calling the emails and phone calls negative but not threatening.

Scalise, meanwhile, continued to improve, his doctors said.

House Speaker Paul Ryan paid a visit to his injured colleague at the hospital Friday.

Scalise’s wife Jennifer issued a statement saying she was thankful for the “incredible amount of prayers and warm wishes” the family has received since the shooting. WASHINGTON — Rep. Steve Scalise’s doctor said he was at death’s door when he arrived at the hospital after being shot in the hip Wednesday morning, but has significantly improved over the past two days.

The Louisiana congressman was shot by a deranged gunman Wednesday morning while practicing for the annual charitable congressional baseball game.

Dr. Jack Sava said “an excellent recovery is a good possibility” for Scalise.
