Bridge naming goes too father
South Farmingdale, L.I.: Another boondoggle bill in Albany, signed by Gov. Cuomo, including renaming the Tappan Zee Bridge, to the Mario Cuomo Bridge. I do not know of one politician who does not like to get his mug in every photo op available to him, except when they get arrested, with a number on the bottom. What they like even more is to have stuff named after them, like what Andrew just did .
I like the name Tappan Zee Bridge name just as it is, thank you. Because this corrupt governor signed a bill, he decides to rename the Tappan Zee Bridge after his father, Mario. What nerve.
Why doesn’t Andrew rename Rikers Island Correctional Facility as the Mario Cuomo Correctional Facility? Or some waste disposal plant — where the name would actually fit what it is named after and representing?
What arrogance and an abuse of power, as usual, in the swamp they call Albany. Mike Pedano
Watch out for this watch
Old Greenwich, Conn.: I’m sure many people will think I am crazy but I still believe in the good and kindness of people despite what this sometimes-wicked world pushes on me. My husband and I were in Manhattan last Sunday, June 25. We stayed at the Royalton Times Square on 44th St. and walked over to the Refinery to have lunch on 63 W. 38th St. Unfortunately, somewhere along that route, I lost a gold Omega watch that was a 10th anniversary gift from my husband. It has a thin gold band and a rectangularshaped face with diamonds at the top and bottom of the face. The inscription on the back reads “I love you more every second 03-31-16.” We are very aware that it is not an inexpensive watch. However, it is the sentimental value that means most to us and we would certainly offer a reward for its return. Should you have come across this beautiful memento and wonder who it belongs to, please contact the Voice of the People in this column as they have my information and will be able to get in touch with me. Thank you whoever you are! I know you are out there somewhere just waiting to hear from me! Maria Wardell
Pension pain
Port Jefferson Station, L.I.: Sorry, Voicer and New York State AFL-CIO President Mario Cilento, but it’s the pension system that’s hurting all New Yorkers, mostly because of the many abuses allowed in determining the pension amount. The already high pension rates are increased because of padding with overtime, the salaries generated thereby increasing the pension. Your people are given lifetime medical coverage at the public’s expense. We have an opportunity this year to address the pension situation with the upcoming state constitutional convention. We must take a stand and get this problem addressed before New York goes bankrupt. We can curtail the padding by insisting the pension is based solely on the regular income of the worker and also stop paying for unused vacation and sick leave. We the people should say no more pension abuse.

New York values
Manhattan: President Trump should have ignored the moribund Joe and Mika train wreck, but now he has given them a new lease on life. That being said, where were the “shocked” liberal press, and politicians, when they spoke of the President “pooping his pants...having the handshake of a thug...is mentally unstable, is the biggest liar, etc.” Of course, they also saw nothing wrong with “Benghazi Hillary” and her convicted husband; President Obama’s “America’s not an exceptional nation” tour, etc. The President, born to wealth, has never lost his Queens upbringing: If you spit in his face, he does not lick it up; he gives you a licking.

High-caliber doctors
Maspeth: After the slaughter at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital, I want to know if supporters of the NRA will advocate that every doctor, nurse and patient be armed with a gun. After all they can easily hide their weapons under lab coats or under the covers. Carol Sym
Mourning of mothers
Manhattan: To the family of Otto Warmbier: As a mother of two adult sons, I can never know your heartache. As a mother of two African-American sons, it is every morning I express gratitude for another day that my sons and grandsons are alive. You can never know my grief just as I can never know yours. However, as mothers of sons, we both know that familiar emotion called grief. I would like to extend to you, your family, friends and community a source that brings me daily relief, hopefulness and a continued source of faith. This is from Vicki Panagotacos’ “Talking Grief”: It is not the strength of the body that counts, and yet, it is the strength of the spirit. One comfort your family can always rely on is that your son held on until he was safely returned to the arms of those he knew that loved and protected him.

Wholly President
Middle Village: Does anybody know what brand of bottled water Sean Hannity uses when he washes Donald Trump’s feet?

Standing proud
Marion, Mass.: Kudos to the Daily News for Friday’s “Eagle” cover. It surely must have touched so many U.S. citizens whose hearts are breaking every day. It is comforting to see the press take leadership when our country so sorely needs it. Very much appreciated. Thank you. Please stay the course, no matter how much the administration tries to shut you up.

Grand hypocrisy
Petaluma, Calif.: It should also be mentioned: Trump’s kid, Barron, is extremely close to his maternal grandparents (“Grandparents, fiancées aren’t considered ‘close family’ exempt under Trump’s revised travel ban,” June 29). They live in Trump Tower. They accompanied him to Washington and recently stayed with him at Camp David. It’s been reported that they all speak Slovenian together. Sounds like a close family to me. Sounds like a hypocritical President to me. Pamela Morris
Wrong targets
Oakland Gardens: Forty-five’s spokesperson, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, said that he is a fighter and that Americans elected a fighter. Silly me, I thought he meant fighting ISIS not his fellow Americans. Deborah M. Jackson
Red-faced nation
Manhattan: Dear World, just a quick note to let you know that the vast majority of us are as horrified as you are by the wildly incompetent vulgarian currently occupying the Oval Office. Please don’t hold it against us. Sincerely, America Anne Stockton
Learning from The Boss
Coral Springs, Fla.: Growing up in the New York/New Jersey area, you tend to pretty much have seen it all. I remember back in the ’70s when The Boss — George Steinbrenner — ran the Yankees when they weren’t good on the field. The back pages were great. Billy Martin this, Reggie Jackson that. Then Billy again, so on and so forth. Later, when The Boss took a step back, got Joe Torre and let the baseball people do what they were hired to do, the results were championships. James Dolan might not be the best owner but neither was Steinbrenner until the culture changed. Now that the black cloud has been lifted, Knicks, go and get your Torre and your Brian Cashman. The fans of New York and the NBA need the Knicks to be great. Go get ex-Cavaliers GM David Griffin and New York’s favorite son Mark Jackson. Let them do what they do best.

Mets have too much hair
Danbury, Conn.: Ron Darling suggests that the unusual number of Mets pitching injuries might be do to training issues. After viewing the picture in the June 29 Daily News of Robert Gsellman being helped off the field, I’m thinking that there is too much strain on their pitching arms because of the amount of extra weight many of them carry above the shoulders. Perhaps a team barber might be a better solution. Bob Bergin

A justified hit
MARCUS SANTOS Colbert, Wash. We are watching “Justified” on Netflix and now beginning Season 3. We love the show so much. Have a hard time turning off a great episode to go to bed. I wish it had kept continuing; it is a marvelous show. All the actors are superb and we love star Timothy Oliphant — so handsome and great actor. We also love Walter Groggins; he is fantastic. We will be very sad when we finish the last episode! What an outstanding show!
