A year later, Nets haul in their Crabbe

- STAFF AND WIRE REPORTS

THE NETS have finally landed their target.

A year after attempting to sign Allen Crabbe before the Blazers matched their four-year, $75 million offer sheet, the Nets have agreed to a trade with the Blazers to acquire the 25-year-old shooting guard, according to ESPN.

In exchange, the Nets will send Andrew Nicholson to Portland. Crabbe brings the Nets a strong 3-point shooter at 44% last season.

The swap is just the latest in a series of interesting offseason moves for Brooklyn, adding to a backcourt of D’Angelo Russell, who was acquired earlier this offseason when the Nets sent Brook Lopez to the Lakers, and Jeremy Lin. — Zachary Ripple

DRAYMOND ACCUSED

Warriors star Draymond Green has been accused of assault and battery in a lawsuit filed Tuesday stemming from a series of incidents that allegedly took place last summer in Michigan.

The plaintiffs, Jermaine Edmondson and his girlfriend, Bianca Williams, said in a press conference with their attorney, Lisa Bloom, that a pair of run-ins with Green on consecutive days have left them seeking retribution.

Edmondson, who played for Michigan State’s football team following Green’s stint with the Spartans basketball team, said that after bumping into the All-Star at a bar on July 9, he was grabbed and choked by two men who were with Green.

Williams said one of the men also choked her against a wall.

The plaintiffs said they were at a restaurant in East Lansing the next day celebrating Edmondson’s birthday when they spotted Green.

“He seemed calm, so we went up to him,” Edmondson said, according to KABC in Los Angeles. “I told him last night didn’t have to happen, and that it wasn’t cool that Bianca got choked. His response was to punch me in the face without any warning or any reason.”

Green was arrested on a simple assault charge and later accepted a plea agreement that reduced the misdemeanor to a civil infraction.

Edmondson said he has been the target of threats since the incidents, which he said have resulted in a low point in his life. “People made fun of me online and in person,” Edmondson said. “Fans of Draymond, MSU and the Warriors started threatening me, and I no longer felt safe on campus. No one stood up for me.”

CURRY DEAL DONE

Stephen Curry has finalized his new contract, signing his $201 million, five-year deal after he reached the agreement when the free agency period began July 1.

His contract initially was the richest ever, until James Harden topped it with a $228 million extension from the Rockets.

NBA Finals MVP Kevin Durant also signed his new contract worth approximately $53 million over the next two years.

On Tuesday, NBA champion Golden State announced its other signings of returning free agents. Starting center Zaza Pachulia has a $3.5 million, one-year contract. Andre Iguodala, the 2015 Finals MVP, received a three-year STAcontract with $48 million guaranteed; fellow key reserve Shaun Livingston is getting $24 million and three years, and David West earned a one-year deal for the veteran minimum $2.3 million.
