Tempest rages over melania’s flashy stilettos

FLOOD-RAVAGED Texans waiting for the other shoe to drop didn’t think it would be a stiletto.

But that’s exactly what First Lady Melania Trump was wearing Tuesday for the first leg of her trip to survey damage in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.

With a fury as fierce as the tropical storm’s winds, Melania Trump was quickly savaged on social media for flaunting footwear better suited for a red carpet event.

The First Lady’s 5-inch $600 Jimmy Choo snakeskin pumps were considered a questionable choice for visiting an area ravaged with record-breaking flooding.

She matched the $600 heels with high-water black pants and completed the look with aviator sunglasses and an Army green bomber jacket as she sauntered with President Trump from the White House to their Marine One helicopter. An aide was in tow with a pair of Louis Vuitton suitcases.

Twitter users were merciless.

“Louboutin makes a waterproof stiletto? Who knew? #resist,” @Unseen17 wrote.

“Frankly I think a 12 inch stiletto heel makes perfect sense if youre trying to stay elevated above the water line & also catch a fish or two,” wrote @jason_malmberg.

When cameras caught up to the First Lady in Texas, her flowing locks were pulled into a ponytail, and on her feet were a pair of powder white Adidas Stan Smith sneakers.

The office of the First Lady shamed critics for their focus on her feet.

“It’s sad that we have an active and ongoing natural disaster in Texas, and people are worried about her shoes,” Stephanie Grisham, the First Lady’s communications director, told CNN.

Melania Trump seemed to pay no mind to her pump pundits.

“I want to be able to offer my help and support in the most productive way possible, not just through words, but also action,” she said.
