In the world of colleges, St. Francis is a dream come true. Founded 160 years ago by the Franciscan Brothers, the mission of St. Francis has always been to help young people achieve their life dreams of personal and professional success by making a quality college education more affordable.

Generations of St. Francis College graduates have gone on to achieve great success as leaders in business, finance, education, public service, health care and more. And as alumni, they remain actively involved with the College by providing mentoring and internships to the next generation of dreamers. That’s the St. Francis way.

As one of the most affordable private colleges in the region with an exceptionally generous financial aid program, St. Francis College’s value-added approach provides an education with all the benefits and opportunities associated with a small private college. It’s no doubt that St. Francis has been consistently ranked by U.S. News & World Report, Forbes. com and Money magazine as a top college.

What’s even better is the recognition St. Francis gets for increasing a student’s earning potential. The New York Times found that St. Francis was 13th out of 578 selective, private colleges on their Upward Mobility Index.

Our new president, Dr. Miguel Martinez-Saenz brings 17 years of experience of academic leadership with a focus on student access, retention, and student success. His ideas and energy will be a driving force continuing the positive momentum of the College.

He has a solid foundation to work with; of more than 70 programs, majors and minors, including the cutting-edge fields of Entrepreneurship, Interactive Media and Sports Management. Communication Arts majors take advantage of the HDTV production studio while the five-year combined BS/MS degree in Accounting and the MS degree in Professional Accounting lead graduates to jobs at some of the top Accounting Firms.

The five-year combined BA/MA in Psychology has helped place every graduate who applied into an advanced degree program. The two-year MA in Psychology program prepares students for careers in human services or serves as a bridge to a doctoral program.

This summer the College held its first session of the only low residency Master’s in Fine Arts in Creative Writing (MFA) in New York City. Unlike a traditional MFA, the low-residency program offers students the freedom and flexibility to write without disrupting everyday lives and responsibilities. Visit SFC.EDU/MFA to learn more about the award-winning writers leading the program.

With today’s high demand for qualified health care professionals, our BS in Nursing program is offered to qualified freshmen and transfers. Graduates are eligible to sit for the NCLEX exam and become certified nurses. Other programs in Healthcare Management, Health Promotion and Sciences are teaching students necessary skills by conducting research and lab experiments in the College’s state-of-the-art science labs and classrooms.

What’s your plan for the fall? It’s not too late to register for the upcoming semester and experience St. Francis College in Brooklyn Heights. Log onto SFC.EDU for more information.
