‘Mistake’ to reelect Bill – ex-sheriff
CONTROVERSIAL exMilwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke is taking aim at Mayor de Blasio — saying at an appearance in Manhattan Thursday that voters shouldn't make the “mistake” of reelecting him.
“You made that mistake once, don't do it again,” Clarke said at a “Pub and Politics” forum where he took the stage after a forum featuring three of de Blasio’s challengers.
The firebrand sheriff and fervent President Trump supporter, who faced allegations prisoners were mistreated in his jails, resigned abruptly at the end of last month. He has since announced he’s joining a proTrump super PAC.
“Mayor de Blasio was handed a great city by his predecessors,” Clarke said at the event hosted by 77-WABC and Rita Cosby. “He took a pretty good thing, and it's starting to deteriorate.”
