Davidson & Army march past UTEP

WEST POINT, N.Y. — Andy Davidson rushed for 100 yards and one touchdown, Ahmad Bradshaw threw his first scoring pass of the season, and Army beat UTEP 35-21 on Saturday on a windy day at Michie Stadium.

Reeling from two straight losses on the road, Army (3-2) broke open a tight game with two touchdowns in the third quarter and another early in the fourth as Bradshaw finally displayed some nice touch throwing the ball. He finished 3 of 5 for 80 yards and rushed for 93 yards on 11 carries.

NC STATE 33, SYRACUSE 25: Nyheim Hines rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown, Jaylen Samuels and Reggie Gallaspy each ran for a score as well, and North Carolina State held off a late rally to beat Syracuse in Raleigh.

COLUMBIA 28, PRINCETON 24: Anders Hill connected with Ronald Smith II for a 63-yard touchdown with 1:12 to play, Ben McKeighan followed with a game-saving intercepti­on and visiting Columbia defeated defending league co-champion Princeton in an Ivy League opener.

MARIST 31, DAVIDSON 9: Mike White threw a touchdown pass and ran for a score, Jeremiah Gholston’s first career intercepti­on was a pick-six, and Marist converted two fumbles into scores to beat host Davidson, taking a 9-1 lead in the series dating to 2008.

WAGNER 37, LEHIGH 20:David Thomas had three intercepti­ons as the host Wagner defense stymied Lehigh. Wagner (2-3) tied a school record with five intercepti­ons.

CCSU 26, SACRED HEART 15: Drew Jean-Guillaume accounted for two touchdowns, and Central Connecticu­t State forced five turnovers and beat Sacred Heart in a Northeast Conference opener in Fairfield. Kevin Duke scored on a 13-yard run to pull Sacred Heart (2-3, 0-1) to 19-9 early in the fourth quarter.

YALE 41, FORDHAM 10: Deshawn Salter rushed for three touchdowns, Zane Dudek ran for two more, and visiting Yale beat Fordham to win its third straight. The Bulldogs defense shut down Fordham’s pass attack, limiting Kevin Anderson, who threw five TD passes in last week’s 45-40 loss to Bryant, to 13 of 28 for 140 yards passing.

SMU 49, UCONN 28: Ben Hicks passed for 280 yards and four touchdowns and SMU pulled away with three fourthquar­ter touchdowns to beat Connecticu­t in Houston. Bryant Shirreffs passed for 408 yards and two TDs for the Huskies but was sacked eight times.

MONMOUTH 35, BUCKNELL 13: Erik Zokouri rushed for 134 yards and five players ran for scores as Monmouth downed Bucknell in Lewisburg.

STONY BROOK 21, WILLIAM & MARY 18: Joe Carbone threw for 182 yards and a touchdown and Stacey Bedell ran for 104 yards and a score and visiting Stony Brook withstood William & Mary’s fourthquar­ter rally for the victory. —AP
