Bomb fiend gets booted

Yaps at trial & judge has him yanked

- BY VICTORIA BEKIEMPIS Ahmad Rahimi, accused in the September 2016 Chelsea bomb attack (inset), was removed from Manhattan courtroom Monday.

ARCHITECT HELENA Ayeh said she was steps from her W. 23rd St. home when she felt herself being lifted off the ground.

“I landed on my knees and my wrists . . . I tried to get my keys to put in the lock, but I couldn’t see them,” she told a jury on Monday. “Then my left eye slowly seemed to open.

“My white dress (was) covered in blood. My arm was covered in blood,” she said.

Her testimony about the evening of Sept. 17, 2016, came on the first day of the trial of Ahmad Rahimi, who is accused of planting two bombs in the Chelsea neighborhood. One of the pressure cooker explosives went off, injuring more than 30 people.

Rahimi, 29, stalled his court appearance for about 40 minutes Monday morning — and then got kicked out shortly after his late arrival.

His lawyer, Sabrina Shroff, told Manhattan Federal Court Judge Richard Berman that her client wanted to speak.

“He’ll have the opportunity to address the court, but not at this time,” a stern Berman replied.

Rahimi, wearing a light blue shirt and dark slacks, was undeterred. He stood as a prosecutor took to the lectern for her opening statement.

“Sit down, Mr. Rahimi,” Berman instructed, warning that he would be removed if he didn’t.

“The whole year I’ve been waiting to get this thing across,” Rahimi said. “I asked to come out only to speak with you, sir.”

Several court security officers then swooped in and removed Rahimi from the courtroom.

After prosecutors concluded their argument, the jury left and Rahimi was brought back in.

“I do apologize for the incident that took place,” Rahimi said. “The entire year, I’ve been going back and forth trying to get a visit with my wife and children.”

Rahimi was present for the rest of the day, including Ayeh’s testimony.

When she finally arrived at the hospital, Ayeh said she learned that she “had a cut from the corner of my eye just into the inside

“Whatever it was that cut my eye . . . missed my eyeball by a fraction of a millimeter.”

Ayeh said her eye injury improved after several weeks, and she was able to return to work.

Testimony is expected to continue Tuesday.

Rahimi faces eight federal counts related to the Chelsea bombs. He has also been hit with federal and state charges by New Jersey prosecutors for allegedly planting bombs in Elizabeth and Seaside Park and shooting at cops who arrested him. immediately underneath.”
