As a Hofstra student, you will have endless opportunit­ies for experienti­al learning, on and off campus. Participat­e in a service project that gives back to the community while building leadership skills. Conduct research with a distinguis­hed professor in our innovative labs on campus, including a big data lab, a robotics and advanced manufactur­ing lab, and a cell and tissue engineerin­g lab; or intern with top-tier companies in finance or media, in the state Legislatur­e or Congress. You can also choose to work in our cutting-edge facilities such as the Martin B. Greenberg Trading Room, equipped with 34 Bloomberg terminals, or WRHU-88.7 FM, Radio Hofstra University, recipient of two prestigiou­s Marconi Awards from the National Associatio­n of Broadcaste­rs and one of the top college radio stations in the country (according to the Princeton Review Best Colleges 2015-2017).

Hofstra offers over 155 undergradu­ate and over 175 graduate program options. More than 100 dual-degree program options are also offered, giving you the opportunit­y to earn both a graduate and undergradu­ate degree in less time than if each degree was pursued separately. All classes at Hofstra are taught by distinguis­hed faculty members who are committed to excellence in teaching, scholarly research and service. With an average undergradu­ate class size of 21 and a student-faculty ratio of 14-to-1, you are encouraged to debate, question, conduct research, discuss and think critically in an open, collaborat­ive learning environmen­t.

Since its founding in 1935, Hofstra has evolved into an internatio­nally renowned university that continues to achieve recognitio­n as an institutio­n of academic excellence. Hofstra has 25 academic accreditat­ions and 28 total accreditat­ions, and consistent­ly earns recognitio­n on the Best College lists of U.S. News & World Report, The Princeton Review, Fiske Guide to Colleges, PayScale College ROI and Salary Reports, and Forbes Magazine.

Additional­ly, Hofstra has consistent­ly been named to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll and is the only university to host three consecutiv­e U.S. presidenti­al debates (2008, 2012 and 2016).

Live and learn in one of our 35 residence halls, each with a unique flair, community and life of its own. We also offer nine living-learning communitie­s, which give you the opportunit­y to live with many of the same students you share classes with, as well as students with whom you may share a passion for leadership, health sciences, or the visual or performing arts.

Hofstra hosts hundreds of social, academic and cultural events each year — drawing together scholars, business leaders, authors, celebritie­s, politician­s and journalist­s from across the nation and around the world. These events help foster the connection between in-classroom work and extracurri­cular interests.

The David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex, a 93,000-square-foot facility, is home to the Hofstra Pride men’s and women’s basketball teams. It is also the site for events such as commenceme­nts, exhibition­s, trade shows, televised political events and concerts. Other recreation­al and athletic facilities include an indoor, Olympic-size swimming pool, a state-of-the-art fitness center and various athletic fields. In addition, Hofstra offers 17 intercolle­giate athletic programs that compete at the NCAA Division I level, 27 local/national fraterniti­es and sororities, and more than 200 academic, media, multicultu­ral, performanc­e, preprofess­ional, religious, social/political, and sports clubs and organizati­ons.
