INT makes sweet treat for Snacks

-

DAMON “Snacks” Harrison has a reputation for feeding on running backs, but the Giants defensive tackle had himself a new meal on Sunday. Harrison picked off a shuffle pass from Alex Smith late in the first quarter for the first interception of his career.

Smith attempted to find tight end Travis Kelce behind the offensive line but Jason Pierre-Paul hit Kelce, and the ball ricocheted off the tight end and into the hands of Harrison.

“It was just a play that we knew they like to run and Jason did a heck of a job of seeing it and getting a good hit on him,” Harrison said. “I was just in the right place at the right time.”

Harrison even managed to get nine yards on the return before he was brought down.

He added that he was able to keep the ball and give it to his son after the game.

“I didn’t expect for it to happen,” Harrison said. “But I was pretty satisfied with the outcome.”

The Giants offensive line appears to be set for another shake-up.

Right guard D.J. Fluker is battling a toe injury and is in danger of missing the Giants’ Thanksgiving Washington.

The Giants held a walkthrough on Monday, but the injury report had Fluker listed as did not practice and coach Ben McAdoo said if they had to play a game today, Fluker would not play.

While McAdoo would not name a replacement, it would likely be guard John Greco, who the Giants signed off waivers last week. game

WHAT A HEADACHE

against

Sterling Shepard was forced to miss Sunday’s game after experiencing migraines, but it does not sound like it is concussion-related . . . . Eli Apple was back at the Giants facility on Monday after being absent last Thursday and Friday to be with his mother, who underwent brain surgery.

The Giants made Apple inactive for Sunday’s game against the Chiefs in what McAdoo would only categorize as a “coach's decision.”

INJURY ROUNDUP

LB Calvin Munson (quad), DE Olivier Vernon (shoulder), Harrison (ankle), Fluker (toe), LB B.J. Goodson (ankle) and OL Justin Pugh (back) were projected as did not practice for Monday’s walkthrough.

RB Orleans Darkwa (hamstring), Pierre-Paul (knee), WR Sterling Shepard (illness), LB Kelvin Sheppard (groin) and DT Dalvin Tomlinson (ankle) were projected as limited.
